Wayanad – Ooty Sightseeing Highlights

Upon arrival at Coimbatore airport/railway station, meet assistance by our executive followed by transfer to Wayanad – a famous north Kerala destination on the majestic Western Ghats with altitudes ranging from 700 to 2100 Meters above mean sea level. The etymology of the word Wayanad is Vayal (paddy) Naad (land) making the name as ‘Land of Paddy Fields’. Enroute visit ‘Edakkal Caves’ – a cleft about 96ft long and 22ft wide in the rock’, contains interesting carvings, which represent human and animal figures and objects of human use and symbols.

In Ooty / Sightseeing of Coonoor Onward for sightseeing tour visiting places of interest such as, Banasura sagar Dam – the largest earthen dam in India. Pookot Lake – beautiful natural fresh water lake, Soochippara waterfalls – also known as Sentinel water falls, it is one of the largest water falls of this area. Later in the evening visit “Muthanga wild life sanctuary” – one of the most famous wild life sanctuaries of Kerala. A jeep drive arranged by forest department takes you to visit this famous sanctuary.

Itinerary Highlights

Day 01 Arrive Coimbatore / drive to Wayanad (6.5hrs)

Upon arrival at Coimbatore airport/railway station, meet assistance by our executive followed by transfer to Wayanad – a famous north Kerala destination on the majestic Western Ghats with altitudes ranging from 700 to 2100 Meters above mean sea level. The etymology of the word Wayanad is Vayal (paddy) Naad (land) making the name as ‘Land of Paddy Fields’. Enroute visit ‘Edakkal Caves’ – a cleft about 96ft long and 22ft wide in the rock’, contains interesting carvings, which represent human and animal figures and objects of human use and symbols. These carvings speak of a highly-civilized people of pre-historic age. Later proceed to check in to hotel of stay. (Overnight at hotel in Waynad).

Day 02 In Wayanad / Sightseeing

Breakfast at residing hotel. Onward for sightseeing tour visiting places of interest such as, Banasura sagar Dam – the largest earthen dam in India. Pookot Lake – beautiful natural fresh water lake, Soochippara waterfalls – also known as Sentinel water falls, it is one of the largest water falls of this area. Later in the evening visit “Muthanga wild life sanctuary” – one of the most famous wild life sanctuaries of Kerala. A jeep drive arranged by forest department takes you to visit this famous sanctuary. The park houses one of the most elephant populations of this region. The park is spread over 345 sq km in area which is rich with fauna and flora, and comes under Project Elephant. Various species of deer, monkeys, birds etc. too live in here. The trees and plants in the sanctuary are typical of the south Indian moist deciduous forests and west coast semi evergreen forests. Post visits return to hotel of stay. Day 03 Wayand to Ooty (4.0Hrs)

Check out from hotel after breakfast and drive to Ooty (Uthagamadalam) – also known as Nigiris. On arrival at Ooty check in into the hotel and after refreshing, proceed for the sightseeing tour visiting places of interest such as the Botanical garden – spread over a huge area of 22 hectares and with more than 650 species of flowers and trees is a horticulturist’s delight. The highlight of this garden is a fossil tree believed to be 20 million years old. The Doddabetta peak – at an altitude of 8606 feet is the highest point of South India. It provides stunning views of this hilly region. The Rose Garden – located in the prime part of Ooty, spread across in around 10acres of area, it is one of the largest gardens of its kind in India. The Wax museum in Ooty is also an interesting spot to visit. Wind up your day at the Ooty lake where in you can indulge in many activities like Boating, Cycling around the lake, Joy ride on Horse etc. Post visits return to hotel. (Overnight at hotel in Ooty)

Day 04 In Ooty / Sightseeing of Coonoor

After breakfast, proceed to Coonoor by the famous TOY TRAIN (ticket subject to availability) for a short and beautiful ride from Ooty to Coonoor (ride time approx. 1.15Hrs). Upon reaching coonoor, our chauffeur will pick you from railway station and continue for sightseeing of Coonoor visiting places of Interest such as the Sim’s park – yet another beautiful botanical garden which is home to a variety of unusual species of plants from different parts of the world. Lamb’s rock – gives you a spectacular view of the lush forest and the beautiful hills side, thus making this place an excellent picnic spot too. The Dolphin’s Nose – is another stunning viewpoint which is more than 1000 feet above sea level. The name is derived due the unique rock formation of the peak resembling a dolphin’s nose. Post visits in Coonoor, return back to Ooty. (Overnight at hotel in Ooty)

Day 05 Departure to Coimbatore

CCheck out as per hotel time and the trip ends today with in time transfer to Coimbatore airport/railway station for your onward journey with good memories of Tamilnadu.

Tour price:
For 02 pax travelling – Rs.19900 + 5 % ST Per person (valid for minimum 02 paying persons onwards)
For 04 pax travelling – Rs.16500 + 5 % ST Per person (valid for minimum 04 paying persons onwards)

Ooty – Kluney Manor (Rustic cottage non air con)

    • Air fare, Train seats & Hotels are subject to availability
    • Confirm train tkt cannot be guaranteed
    • Railway berth will be allotted as per Railway Allotment
    • Tatkal (if required) charges for train tkt will be extra
    • Costs do not include any surcharges due to high season/ block out dates/festivals/Public Holidays
    • Check in for hotels 1400 Hrs & Check Out time: 1100 Hrs
    • Guaranteed early check-in and late check-out NOT included/guaranteed
    • Services mentioned in the itinerary will be provided, however, the travel plan may change because of
      reasons beyond control such as change in flight or train schedules/bad weather condition/political
      unrest/logistical problems/situation beyond control etc.

    • Quote does not include alcohol in room, at meals, during transfers and on sightseeing is not
      necessarily included in the cost. In case it is needed in room, transfers & sightseeing; an additional will

    • All hotels do not have tea / Coffee making facility in room. The same differs hotel to hotel and city to
      city.
    • Late sitting in a restaurant for meals is totally subject to the terms & conditions of the hotel /
      restaurant used. It could be requested but cannot guaranteed.
    • We are not holding any reservations. Confirmation is subject to availability on clients’ preferred dates,
      failing which there will be a supplement cost. Alternative dates will be provided on which the same
      price can be maintained.
    • All disputes subject to the jurisdiction of Kolkata Court only.

Payment schedule: (If otherwise not stated in your tour proposal)
At the time of booking: Registration amount: INR 10,000 per person
35days before departure: 50% of total tour cost
21days before departure: Balance full amount

Cancellation terms:
31days or before departure: Registration amount of INR 10,000/- per person
30-15 days before departure: 50% of Tour cost per person
14-07 days before departure: 75% of Tour cost per person
Within 7days or “No Show”: The entire tour cost per person

      • Vehicles are not on disposal, only point to point basis
      • Vehicle AC will not work at hill area
